Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire

Police have arrested two suspects in connection with an aggravated robbery reported in Sekiwunga Cell, Kitende Ward, Kajjansi Town Council in Wakiso District.

The robbery occurred on August 21, 2026, when armed men reportedly attacked occupants of a home and made off with several valuables.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Public Relations Officer, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the first suspect, Derrick Kakoza, a motorcycle rider, was arrested on August 22. Police recovered some of the stolen property from his home during a subsequent search.

Further investigations led to the arrest of a second suspect, John Bosco Mukalazi, also known as Ali Junior, on August 25.

Owoyesigyire said Mukalazi was released from Kigo Prison about a month ago after serving a sentence following his arrest by Kira Police in 2023 in connection with an aggravated robbery case.

The two suspects are currently being held at Natete Police Station. They are expected to be transferred to Kajjansi Police Division as investigations continue, after which they will be produced in court.
