Honda by Markh, the official authorized distributor of Honda motorcycles and power products in Uganda under Markh Investments, together with Steel & Tube Industries Limited, have commended Radio Sapientia for its continued commitment to evangelization through the annual catechism quiz competition dubbed Akabinkano Ka Katikisimu held at St. Pius X Masajja Parish.

The appreciation came during the grand finale of the competition, where stakeholders and sponsors gathered to celebrate the initiative that blends faith formation with youth engagement. The initiative, organized by Radio Sapientia as part of its evangelization mission, continues to attract participants from different parishes across the country.

Honda by Markh Sales Executive Isaiah Bwire praised Radio Sapientia for providing a platform that strengthens Christian faith, promotes moral values, and supports the spiritual growth of young people. He noted that the company was proud to support initiatives that contribute to positive social transformation and community development.

As part of its sponsorship, Honda by Markh donated a brand-new Honda Ace 110 Kajambiya motorcycle valued at approximately UGX 5.5 million to the overall winner of the competition. The donation was aimed at rewarding excellence and encouraging greater participation in faith-based educational activities.

Bwire further highlighted the popularity of Honda motorcycles in Uganda, particularly among commercial riders, noting that models such as the Ace 110, Ace 125, and Ace 150 are valued for their durability, fuel efficiency, strong performance, and high resale value. He added that these features make them reliable tools for income generation and economic empowerment.

He also announced that the company has introduced flexible financing options to make motorcycle ownership more accessible. Under the arrangement, interested customers can acquire motorcycles through manageable repayment plans after providing required documentation, including a National Identification Card, an introduction letter from their LC1 chairperson, and guarantors. Customers are required to make an initial deposit before taking possession of the motorcycle, which is issued together with safety gear such as a helmet and reflector jacket.

Steel & Tube Industries Limited also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Church-led and Radio Sapientia initiatives aimed at promoting evangelization, moral values, and youth development.

The company’s Public Relations Officer, Aloysius Ntambi, said the organization was proud to be associated with the catechism competition, which he said plays a key role in nurturing discipline, faith, and Christian values among young people.

As part of this year’s contribution, Steel & Tube Industries donated two water tanks—one with a capacity of 600 litres and another of 1,000 litres—as part of its commitment to community support and youth empowerment. Ntambi noted that the company’s proprietors are committed Catholics who strongly support evangelization programmes whenever called upon.

The Akabinkano Ka Katikisimu competition continues to serve as a major platform for strengthening catechetical knowledge, deepening faith, and bringing together young Catholics from across Uganda in a shared educational and spiritual experience.
