Lugazi Diocese has ordained 9 Priests 7 of whom diocesan and 3 from the missionary congregation of the Servants of Mary.
4 Seminarians have been ordained to deaconate and 6 received special orders.
Those ordained priests include; Rev. Fr. Kato Ignatius from Seeta Parish, Rev. Fr. Gilbert Lubwama from Kayunga Parish, Rev. Fr. Ssali Anthony from Bukerere Parish, Rev. Fr. Mugalu Alex from Nkokonjeru Parish, Rev. Fr. Ssebuyungo Robert and Rev. Fr. Tenywa Francis both from Kasangalabi Parish and Rev. Fr. Ssempa Emmanuel from Lugazi Cathedral Parish.
And lastly those from the congregation of the servants of Mary are Rev. Fr. Kiberu Charles from Namugongo Parish and Rev. Fr. Buyinza Benon from Nkokonjeru Parish.
The 4 deacons are; Dn. Afiman Vincent and Dn. Balambe Rogers from Lugazi Cathedral Parish, Dn. Akirana Luke and Dn. Mulondo John Marty from Nyenga Parish.
Presiding over the ordination ceremony at Lugazi Cathedral Parish on 26th July 2025 the ordinary of the diocese Rt. Rev. Bishop Christopher Kakooza priesthood is a duty granted by God under the three roles rooted in Jesus Christ; teaching, sanctifying and governing.
This is done through leading, guiding and nurturing the communities in the word and sacraments that give life to the Catholic Church.
He cautioned them against indiscipline and always be exemplary to God’s people that they may be guided to the God’s Kingdom.
To the families and entire catholic community Bishop Kakooza called for their prayers and support to the newly ordained.
Present at the same ordination ceremony was the Bishop Emeritus of Lugazi Diocese Rt. Rev. Matthias Ssekamanya and Priests.
