FDC expresses concern over continued detention of Eddie Mutwe

The Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) is concerned with the continued detention of Edward Ssebuufu, also known as Eddie Mutwe.

Ssebuufu was reported abducted in April in Mukono district and taken to an unknown location.

However, his picture later surfaced on the Chief of Defense Forces, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s, X handle.

Now speaking to the press at the party headquarters at Najjanankumbi, the deputy secretary for publicity, Walid Mulindwa Lubega, says Ssebuufu’s situation is not an isolated incident but part of a systematic campaign to silence dissenting voices and crush the aspirations of Ugandans yearning for change and freedom.

He re-affirmed that the detention of Ssebuufu is a reminder of the persistent human rights violations in the country, evident with arbitrary detention, torture, and enforced disappearances documented in various human rights reports.
