All 133 Cardinal Electors to vote in upcoming Conclave, breaking numerical limit

College of Cardinals has announced that all 133 Cardinal electors

The College of Cardinals has announced that all 133 Cardinal electors participating in the upcoming conclave will have the right to vote for the new Pope.

This decision aligns with the provisions outlined in paragraph 33 of the apostolic constitution Universi Dominici Gregis, which normally limits voting rights to 120 Cardinals.

However, the late Pope Francis had dispensed with this numerical limit by creating more than 120 Cardinals under the age of 80, thus allowing all present electors to participate fully in the conclave.

Additionally, the Cardinals expressed their appreciation to Cardinal Giovanni Angelo Becciu for choosing not to participate in the conclave scheduled to begin on May 7.
