NUP’s Youth Protest Vote Campaign foiled by Police

Police Spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke

The Uganda Police Force has blocked the National Unity Platform (NUP) from launching its “Youth Protest Vote” campaign at the party’s headquarters in Makerere Kavule.

According to police spokesperson ACP Kituuma Rusoke, the launch was deemed to have illegal intentions, prompting the decision to prevent it in the interest of maintaining security and order.

NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine, strongly condemned the police’s move, accusing them of political bias.

He stated that the campaign aimed to address concerns over poor service delivery, corruption, and governance issues under President Yoweri Museveni’s administration, which has been in power since 1986.

Meanwhile, ACP Rusoke claimed he had no information on the arrest or whereabouts of Bobi Wine’s Head of Security, Eddy Mutwe.
