Late Omukama of Tooro

The Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oboth Oboth, has signed the condolence book opened in honour of the late Omukama of Tooro, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who died at the age of 34.

Members of Parliament are also signing the condolence book as the House prepares to pay tribute to the departed Omukama through a motion to be moved this afternoon by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja.

Speaker Oboth described the Omukama’s death as deeply painful, eulogising him as a distinguished leader and a proud ambassador of Tooro who championed youth empowerment, environmental conservation and tourism.

A delegation from the Tooro Kingdom is also present in Parliament to follow proceedings as MPs debate the motion in honour of the late Omukama.

The parliamentary tribute is expected to highlight the late Omukama’s contribution to the development of the Tooro Kingdom and Uganda at large.
