Buganda Kingdom has finalized preparations for the 33rd coronation anniversary of His Majesty Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, scheduled for tomorrow, July 31, 2026, at Watoto Church in Bweyogerere, Kira Municipality, Wakiso District.
The Minister for Local Government and Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, Joseph Kawuki, announced the completion of the preparations while addressing the media at Bulange Mengo on Thursday.
Kawuki unveiled the day’s programme, noting that the celebrations will begin with the arrival of the Kabaka’s subjects at 8:00 a.m. and are expected to conclude before 2:00 p.m.
He urged all attendees to adhere to traffic guidelines to minimize congestion and ensure the smooth flow of vehicles around the venue.
Deputy Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigire also appealed to motorists and other road users to observe traffic regulations, noting that the event will take place along the busy Jinja Highway.
Owoyesigire called on attendees to cooperate with security personnel by complying with body checks and other screening procedures.
He revealed that more than 500 security officers drawn from various agencies will be deployed to provide security during the celebrations, which are expected to attract over 5,000 people.
This year’s coronation anniversary will be celebrated under the theme: “Courage as We Preserve Our Heritage.”
