Lugazi Catholic Diocese has today ordained 13 Deacons and Six Seminarians to the holy orders of Deaconate and Priesthood.
Seven of the newly ordained priests are Diocesan while six others are Missionary priests of the Congregation of the Missionaries of St. Francis De Sales {MSFS}.
Diocesan Priests are; Fr. Afiman Vincent and Balambe Rogers from Lugazi Cathedral Parish, Fr. Akirana Luke and Fr. Kato Mulondo Johnmary from Nyenga Parish, Fr. Adrian Kyambadde from Namiryango Parish, Fr. Michael Ssejombwe from Kabimbiri Parish and Fr. Wynand Ssenkusu from St. Paul Mukono Parish.
While the Missionary priests are; Fr. Wanjala Justine from St. Francis Xavier Dabani Catholic Parish – Tororo Archdiocese, Fr. Richard Masereka from Holy Trinity Parish Kyalhumba Kasese Diocese, Fr. Lule Joseph from St. Jude Bukoto Catholic Parish – Masaka Diocese, Fr. Wangi Pascal from Immaculate Heart of Mary Kyamulibwa Parish – Masaka Diocese, Fr. Anthony Kabagambe from Mary Tower of Ivory Rwemisanga Parish – Hoima Diocese and Fr. Wamakale Abraham from St. Jude Catholic Parish – Osia Tororo Archdiocese.
The ordination ceremony was presided over by the ordinary Rt. Rev. Christopher Kakooza assisted by the Bishop Emeritus of Lugazi Diocese Rt. Rev. Mathias Ssekamanya, the Vicar General Msgr. Richard Kayondo among other priests.
Bishop Kakooza hailed the formatters right from the family level, Parishes and the Seminaries for their tremendous contribution to support the Seminarians, Deacons and newly ordained Priests both spiritually and in their social needs.
The church now welcomes the new shepherds who are come to support his flock in faith, love and hope.
At the same Eucharistic Celebration held on 25th July 2026 at Lugazi Cathedral Eight Seminarians were given holy orders.
