The Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere, has called on Ugandans to ensure that children grow up surrounded by love, hope, and dignity.
Delivering his message through the Vicar General, Msgr. Rogers Mukasa Kabuye, at the launch of the 4th edition of the Nsambya Baby’s Home charity walk at Lubaga Cathedral, the Archbishop emphasized that many children are neglected, leaving them vulnerable to abuse and hopelessness.
He commended Nsambya Baby’s Home for over six decades of dedicated service, protecting children and giving them a second chance at life.
He also urged the public to actively participate in the upcoming charity walk scheduled for July 25, 2026.
In her remarks, Sr. Maria Sarah Naamala, Managing Director of CWAS, acknowledged the Archbishop’s continued support for children in care homes, which helps the organizations fulfill their mission of safeguarding vulnerable children.
Sr. Maria Teddy Nakyanzi, Administrator of Nsambya Baby’s Home, highlighted ongoing challenges, including shortages of essential supplies and funding gaps critical to ensuring the safety of the children.
T-shirts and “talking kits” supporting the cause are available at 30,000, 20,000, and 10,000 Ugandan shillings, and can be purchased from Bweyogerere Parish, Cabana Sisters Pharmacy, SWICO Sure House, Pax Insurance, and other locations.
Meanwhile, Centenary Bank contributed 20 million shillings, Pax Insurance donated 2 million shillings, and Four Ways provided 2 million shillings to support the initiative.
