The Archbishop of Kampala His Grace Paul Ssemogerere has appealed to Christians to dedicate prayers for their church leaders to serve according to God’s will and peace in the world.
In a message delivered on his behalf by Msgr. Charles Kasibante at Lubaga Cathedral during the Rosary Crusade Rally Eucharistic celebration marking the beginning of the Holy Month of Mother Mary – the month of May said priestly service demands sacrifice and prayer life from those they serve.
He also called for prayers for the Archdiocese of Kampala which is celebrating 60 years since it was founded and dedicated to Mother Mary.
On his part during the homily Rev. Fr. Dr. Joseph Mary Ssebunya hailed the Christians for demonstrating their dedication and royalty to the Roman Catholic Church and mother Mary inspite of any kind of ridicule they have remained steady fast.
He said prayer through mother Mary is the only answer to the existential challenges; corruption, band leadership, family conflicts and wars in different parts of the world that have claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and devastated property in Iran, Lebanon and Ukraine.
Fr. Ssebunya said the members of the legion of Mary are the army of mother Mary inspired to save souls. However this calls for obedience, dedication to the holy sacraments, love for one another, service above self and spirit of endurance.
This first Rosary Crusade Rally in the year was organized by the Holy Cross Family Ministries together with the Archdiocese of Kampala and management of the Region of Mary in Uganda. It started on 1st May at Nsambya Parish with an overnight prayer session and colcluded on Saturday 2nd 2026 at St. Mary’s Cathedral Lubaga.
