A total of 3,514 students have graduated from Kampala University during its 23rd graduation ceremony held at the Ggaba main campus in Kampala.
In his remarks, the University Chancellor, Prof. George Mondo Kagonyera, raised concern over the growing misuse of Artificial Intelligence among the current generation.
He noted that while technology remains a powerful tool for development, it must be used responsibly to avoid negative consequences in education and society.
Kagonyera also advised the graduates to prepare for an increasingly competitive job market, urging them to apply creativity, innovation, and the knowledge acquired during their studies to succeed in their respective fields.
The Chief Guest, Maggie Kigozi, highlighted unemployment as a major challenge facing young people.
She encouraged graduates to explore small business opportunities, practice financial discipline, and actively seek out emerging economic prospects.
This year’s ceremony was held under the theme “Empowering a New Generation: AI, Innovation, and Sustainable Development,” and was attended by academics, government officials, parents, and continuing students.
