Katikiiro Mayiga calls for observance of trade order in Kampala

The Katikiiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has called on the authorities to investigate fully and inform the public why the killer descended on infants killing four of them in Ggaba.

He consoled the caretakers of the day care and families of the deceased.

A 39-year-old, Christopher Okello Onyum, who on Thursday 2nd April descended on innocent children at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre and brutally killed four toddlers.

The deceased were identified as Keisha Alungat, Gideon Oteko, Odeka Ryan, and Ignitious Seruyange, all aged between one and two-and-a-half years.

He also reiterated Kabaka’s Easter Message outlining among others poor planning that has left many in various cities especially Kampala confused with no option for livelihood, poverty that deprives many of essential needs, environmental degradation that are failing the country.

On April 13th 2026 Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II will celebrate 71st birth day and St. Nicolas Cathedral Namungoona the Orthodox Church has been chosen to prepare for the prayers.

Before that Kabaka’s birthday run will be held on 12th April with emphasis to control the spread of HIV/AIDS that continues to affect Ugandans and youth in particular.
