In the Easter Message released on Saturday 4th April the Chairman Uganda Episcopal Conference Rt. Rev. Bishop Joseph Antony Zziwa says Ugandans need to heal from the divisions and polarization that marked the resent Presidential and General elections.
Tragically some Ugandans lost their lives, others sustained injuries, some were traumatized and others continue to be incarcerated because of their political beliefs.
He said Uganda should strive for reconciliation and peace and to establish a lasting mechanism for national reconciliation, fostering a culture of constitutionalism, justice and rule of law.

He also called for true Christian live that is free from hatred, jealousy or envy, anger, selfish ambitions, impurity or sexual immorality that abuse the temple of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ.
Bishop Zziwa re-emphasised that let Easter help each one reflect on God’s love to the people that he died to save humanity. Allow the power of his love to transform our hearts, families, communities and nation.
May Easter inspire us to forgive, to heal and to build bridges of peace wherever there is division. Let all Ugandans practice the famous prayer of St. Francis of Assisi that calls upon us to be instruments of peace, sow love, to pardon, to have faith and to bring hope, light and joy.
On the Ad Limina Apostolorum Visit that run from 14th to 22nd March 2026 before to Rome and Pope Leo XIV to give reports as a requirement to every Diocesan Catholic Bishop after five years, Bishop Zziwa reported that the Pope was gratified with God’s grace active in the Ministry of the Catholic Church in Uganda.
The Pontiff was particularly pleased with the growth of the Catholic Church in Uganda and the increased number of clergy and religious men and women and the zealous commitment of the laity to the development and growth of the church.
He bestowed his Apostolic Blessing on Uganda and her people.
