Bishop Zziwa Urges Christians to Embrace Peace and Unity This Easter

Bishop Zziwa, who also serves as Chairman of the Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC)

The Bishop of Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese, Joseph Antony Zziwa, has called on Christians to promote peace and unity as they celebrate Easter Sunday 2026.

Bishop Zziwa, who also serves as Chairman of the Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC) and Chairman of the Episcopal Conference, made the remarks during joint prayers organized by the council.

The prayers followed an ecumenical public Way of the Cross held earlier today.

He emphasized that the resurrection of Christ should inspire believers to live in harmony and uphold values that foster peace within their communities.

Bishop Zziwa strongly condemned actions that undermine peace, including the killing of juveniles and corruption, noting that such vices contradict the message of Easter.

He reminded Christians that Easter is a time of renewal and reflection, urging them to turn away from wrongdoing and embrace righteousness as they commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The bishop further called on both leaders and the general public to lead by example in promoting justice, love, and unity during the festive season.
