The Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon Annet Anita Among has reaffirmed the National Resistance Movement (NRM)’s commitment to supporting independent MPs who have chosen to work with the party.
She made the remarks during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between 30 independent Members of Parliament and the NRM at the party secretariat on Plot 10 Kyadondo in Kampala.
Among assured of the party’s full support, Among said the MPs would not regret joining NRM and urged existing party members to collaborate with the newcomers.
She also invited them to participate in the upcoming party retreat at Kyankwanzi, scheduled for July 7–14.
The independent MPs who signed the MoU include Hon. Christine Apolot, Hon. Joel Waiswa, Hon. Stella Nakwanga, Hon. Richard Senteza, and Hon. Mpindi Bumaali, among others.
