Police Assure Kampala Residents of Stable Security During Local Government Elections

Police have assured residents of Kampala Metropolitan that security remains stable as local government elections continue across the area.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Rachael Kawala, said the security situation throughout the metropolitan area is calm and under control.

She commended the public for their cooperation during the election period and in the days following earlier polls.

Kawala confirmed that joint security operations involving multiple agencies are fully in place to ensure a peaceful electoral process.

She explained that the continued deployment of security forces is aimed at protecting lives and property while maintaining law and order across the city.

According to her, authorities have put measures in place to prevent any disruptions at polling centres.

She further emphasized that security agencies will not tolerate any form of lawlessness during the elections.

Kawala called on voters to remain calm, adhere to electoral guidelines, and cooperate with security personnel to ensure a peaceful and orderly voting exercise throughout Kampala Metropolitan.
