Travelers and Motorists along Masaka Road are in Confusion and anger over the traffic jam that left most of them interlocked forcing them to sleep in their cars last night.
They contend that the Special Forces Command a force responsible for the protection of the President cleared the road when the National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni campaigned in Mpigi and Butambala but after his motorcade the road was deserted by the traffic and the officers leaving travelers in confusion.
Many of them slept on the road up to now traffic flow from Maya to Buwama is still interrupted.
Today President Museveni has left to Nakaseke and Nakasongola where he is going to rally his supporters to vote for him come 15th January 2026.
In Nakaseke the leadership expects President Museveni to settle the issue of land problem for those said to have settled on the reserved land of the forestry authority and in Nakasongola the expects from the National Nuclear Project that is taking off in the area.
While in Mpigi yesterday Museveni proposed for the enactment of a law recalling non performing leaders from their assumed position after evidence of absentee.
He noted similar provisions were proposed in the constituent Assembly as a cure to leaders who fail to perform after their election and he has challenged the people of Mpigi district to reflect on that proposal.
He also summoned youth leaders and NRM leaders in Mpigi district for a meeting to discuss among other service delivery strategies in that area.
