NUP’s Kyagulanyi insists on allowing Ugandans stay at the polling stations to safeguard their vote

National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu

The National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu,, has emphasized that Ugandans who are to participate in the elections should stay 20 meters away from the polling stations after voting, as per the law.

This comes after calls from various stakeholders including CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for people to go home after voting.

Kyagulanyi says if president Museveni has complained of vote rigging citing the last election where he  lost over 1 million votes to the opposition its point enough not to allow the same mistake take root in this elections hence allowing Ugandans to stay and guard their vote.

He however says once government officials insist on having voters desert the polling stations after casting their votes and wait to follow the results from the media raises a sense of sinister motive in this election.

He calls upon Ugandan to come out peacefully and in large numbers on 15th January 2026 to vote for their leaders

Meanwhile Kyagulanyi has lashed out at President Yoweri Museveni’s message that intimidates Ugandans where he said that each security officer will have 120 bullets during elections, to safeguard the election saying that this message is a clear indication of commands to security forces to shoot at Ugandans.
