NRM’s Presidential Candidate Yoweri Museveni re-affirms construction works on Masaka-Mutukula road

The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has confirmed plans to effect tarmac plans for major roads in Rakai district.

Museveni says once elected in office come Januray 15th 2026, Kabingo – Lugaaga – Magabi – Ntantamuki – Rakai road and Lyantonde – Lumbugu – Lwamaggwa – Rakai road will be tarmacked to improve on Mobility of goods and services in the area. 

He disclosed this during the NRM presidential campaign rally at Kibale Play Ground in Rakai District noting that the NRM government has strategically tarmacked major highways connecting to Rakai District that include Mutukula – Masaka – Kyotera road, Mbarara – Kabingo – Kikagate to Tanzania border among others 

He warned Parliamentarians against misappropriate and mis budgeting against the priority areas of infrastructural developments. 

The NRM presidential flag bearer also commended the people of Rakai District for their mass involvement into coffee farming and has promised to establish irrigation schemes to enhance their farm yields.

He also promised to support coffee farming initiatives to attain maximum wealth creation targets for all households in Rakai District including the establishment of irrigation schemes  thus asking  the people of Rakai District to preserve wetlands to support the planned irrigation schemes 

He was optimistic that once Uganda’s oil proceeds as planned starting next year it will be a game changer for the country’s key infrastructural developments and warned against wastage of the oil resource.
