EC changes election dates for Special Interest Groups

The Electoral Commission has again made adjustments in the polling dates for elections of representatives of Special Interest Groups.

The adjustments include the National conference for election of Persons with Disabilities representatives to parliament whose elections have been slated for 19th January 2026 now adjusted to 3rd February 2026.

The election of councillors representing Special interest Groups that include Youths, Older persons and PWDs at sub county, Town, municipal division whose elections had been slated for 19th January not shifted to 30th January 2026.

The National conference for election of workers representative to Parliament whose election had been slated for 21st January 2026 now shifted to 19th January 2026.

The National conference for election of National Female youth representative to Parliament whose election had been planned for 28th January have now been adjusted to 6th February 2026.

The regional conference for election of regional youths representatives to parliament which had been planned for 6th February 2026 have now been brought closer to 28th January 2026.

While disclosing the adjustments at the electoral commission offices in Kampala, the deputy chairperson of EC Hajjat Aisha Lubega explained the adjustment have been made to enable members of the above category to participate in the general elections and also effectively participate with their respective Electoral College elections.
