President Museveni promises safe water & peace in Kyankwanzi

National Resistance Movement Presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni

The National Resistance Movement Party Presidential Candidate General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni says Uganda has experienced unprecedented state of peace in the 40 years period under the NRM government but it’s challenged by the unmatched level of development.

Museveni claims Uganda had never had peace since independence like it has been under the NRM government but Ugandans needed to explore the social-economic opportunities from this state of stability to transform their livelihood.

Museveni notes that the NRM’s principle of nonsectarian politics built unity and national character among institutions an achievement that must be jealously protected by the electorate whom he urged to re-elect the NRM Government in the forthcoming general elections.

He explained this  during the NRM presidential campaign rally at Butemba College play grounds in Kyankwazi district  highlighting the significant contribution of the NRM affirmative action for special interest groups for especially women empowerment that has seen their elevation into key positions of leadership to contribute to National development.

He also announced plans to establish irrigation schemes in Kyankwazi district to mechanize agriculture and improve farm yields explaining with examples ongoing government irrigation initiatives in other districts including Bushenyi where government has practically demonstrated viability of irrigation in agriculture and farmers are reaping big from their gardens.

President Museveni also highlighted the 86% access to safe and clean water distribution under the NRM government for Kyankwazi district and the plan is to hit  a target of 100%.

Kyankwanzi District faces significant challenges, central among them; poor infrastructure (roads, schools), water scarcity and land conflicts, that greatly affect people’s livelihood. As one of the cattle corridor area the community wants water and vast land for their cattle.
