UCS Financial Administrator Fr. Eustacius Lwemalika Urges Newlyweds to Prioritize Love Over Money for a Lasting Marriage

Fr. Eustachius Lwemalika, the Financial Administrator of the Uganda Catholic Secretariat (UCS), shared heartfelt advice with newlyweds Simon Peter Ivan Mayinja and Cathy Kyomuwendo during their traditional introduction ceremony, urging them to place love above money for a lasting marriage.

Mayinja, a technician at Radio Sapientia, was officially introduced to his long-time partner Kyomuwendo at a grand ceremony attended by her family, friends, and loved ones on Friday at Busi Islands, Busiro South, in Wakiso District.

In his remarks, Fr. Lwemalika, who is also the former Managing Director of Radio Sapientia, stressed that the foundation of a successful marriage is built on love, faith, and mutual respect – not material wealth.

He encouraged the couple to keep God at the center of their union, pointing out that a relationship grounded in faith is more likely to weather the inevitable challenges of life.

The priest also cautioned that many marriages had broken down when financial concerns overshadowed emotional and spiritual bonds.

He explained that when couples prioritize money over love and faith, it can create a disconnect that leads to marital strife.

Fr. Lwemalika commended Mayinja and Kyomuwendo for their decision to formalize their relationship and urged them to seek the sacrament of marriage, ensuring their union is blessed in God’s presence.

The couple’s commitment was met with deep appreciation from those in attendance, including Mayinja’s colleagues from Radio Sapientia and the UCS staff, who joined the couple for the memorable occasion.

The ceremony, full of laughter, music, and heartfelt vows, was a beautiful celebration of love, faith, and the promise of a lasting partnership.

Mayinja and Kyomuwendo were accompanied by the presenters from Radio Sapientia, UCS staff, and friends on a boat ride to the scenic Busi Islands, located on the shores of Lake Victoria, adding a unique touch to the joyful event.
