Kasana–Luweero Diocese has embarked on a major, multi-million-shilling redevelopment of Our Lady of Fatima, Queen of Peace—Kasana Cathedral, following years of structural wear, limited facilities, and concerns over the Cathedral’s declining condition.

The project, unveiled after administrative changes in August 2025, marks the first comprehensive upgrade since it was renovated 20 years ago.

On August 23, 2025, shortly after presiding over the Priestly Ordinations Rt. Rev. Bishop Lawrence Mukasa announced major leadership among the new appointments is Msgr. Vincent De Paul Mukiibi the new Vicar General, whom he tasked with the oversight role as the Cathedral Administrator.

In September this year, Msgr. Mukiibi initiated an extensive facelift campaign dubbed “Yoyoota Kasana,” that involves major facelift of the cathedral; improve on the sound systems, sanitation facilities, and the diocesan headquarters. The facelift will be done in a three phased system.

While speaking during a pilgrimage to mark the Holy Jubilee Year, of Ziroobwe Parish on December 7, 2025, Bishop Mukasa praised the parishioners for contributing Shs 8 million towards diocesan development efforts, and he urged Catholics across the Diocese to treat the redevelopment as a shared responsibility.
