NUP’s deputy spokesperson Mufumbiro denied bail

The National Unity platform Nakawa East parliamentary flag bearer who also serves as the part’s deputy spokesperson Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro has been denied bail by the Nakawa Magistrates Court.

Mufumbiro is battling charges of inciting violence as the state prosecutor alleges that he tried to mobilize NUP supporters in Kampala to mu harm a security officer.

However during the hearing Mufumbiro maintained that the charges were politically motivated stating that is being persecuted not prosecuted.

The state prosecutors however told court he may interfere with investigations and witnesses noting that he would have access to the same platforms allegedly used to commit the offense.
Meanwhile the case has been adjourned to 2nd December this year as he remains incarcerated at Luzira prison.

Mufumbiro is also facing separate charges related to alleged unlawful drilling carried out at the beginning of this month at the party headquarters.
