Radio Sapientia’s Sports Kakensa 2025 winners rock villages

Celebrations to mark the victory of 2025 Radio Sapientia Sports Quiz dubbed Sports Kakensa rock villages where the competitors came from.

This year’s Kakensa 2025 tag line was “Tokola error” climaxed on Saturday 08th November at Serenity Sports Oasis in Ssumbwe, Bulenga Wakiso District.

The competition that opened in August lives in the studios with a total of 110 participants by the end of October had remained with five contestants who had scored higher than the rest from all the rounds and group stages to the finals where the first contestants with the highest score walked away with a brand new  Hoajin Motorcycle.

Tukundane Muliisa 30, from Masajja the fist runners-up got a 5000 Ltr water tank, Robert Ssegujja 28, from Kira municipality Wakiso District in the third position got himself fully connected solar system, in the fourth position was Lubowa Junior 25, from Kibiri in Makindye Ssabagabo – Wakiso District who got himself a set of sofa chairs and in the fifth position was Ssentongo Twaha 31 from Kiyindi, Buyikwe District who got himself a popcorn machine.

Ssekago a supporter of St. Mary’s SS Kitende School football team locally and Manchester United garnering 32 points in the final to beat the remaining four.  He has competed in the same competition since 2019.

Tukundane Muliisa, a supporter of the Uganda Cranes and Arsenal garnered 8 points while Lubowa of (Manchester United and URA FC) who finished third got 6 points.

Ssegujja finished in fourth position with three points and Ssentongo was the fifth with one point.

The prizes for the competitors were carefully selected to support their income generating mission for self sustenance.

According to the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS), the youth unemployment rate (15-24 years) was 4.5% in 2023, a slight decrease from 4.6% in 2022. However, the rate for graduates was significantly higher at 15.2%. A 2024 census report found that 42.6% of youth aged 15-24 were not in employment, education, or training (NEET). This poses a serious economic problem. Radio Sapientia initiated this competition to contribute to income generation for the youth the ardent supporters of sports activities.
