Archbishop Ssemogerere Urges Ugandan Youth to Be Pillars of Change at University of Kisubi Graduation

Msgr. Charles Kasibante

The Archbishop of Kampala, His Grace Paul Ssemogerere, has called upon the youth of Uganda to rise as pillars of change, urging them to uphold the values of truth and justice, which he observed have been gradually eroded from society.

In a powerful message delivered by Msgr. Charles Kasibante at the 10th Graduation Ceremony of the University of Kisubi, Archbishop Ssemogerere emphasized the critical role the younger generation must play in addressing the nation’s deep-seated issues.

He pointed out that Uganda has endured widespread suffering due to injustices, corruption, and various societal vices, and stressed that without a concerted effort from the youth, there could be no meaningful resolution to these challenges.

The ceremony, held under the theme “Pilgrims of Hope”, saw 542 students graduate, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey.

In his address, Msgr. Kasibante, who represented Archbishop Ssemogerere, reminded the graduates that their education was not just a personal achievement but a call to action.

He encouraged them to recognize their responsibility to go into the world and make a tangible impact, urging them to become agents of change who serve others and help transform Uganda for the better.

Msgr. Kasibante also discussed the issue of corruption, noting that the root cause of corruption lies not in the offices individuals occupy, but in their hearts.

He encouraged the graduates to embrace integrity in all aspects of their lives and to lead by example, regardless of the positions they would hold in the future.

As the graduates set out on their professional journeys, they were urged to remain true to their values and to be the driving force behind a brighter, more just future for Uganda.
