Wakiso District Presiding Officer, Tolbert Musinguzi, has announced that Monday, October 27th, 2025, will be the date for a crucial harmonization campaign program for all duly nominated candidates vying for parliamentary seats in the district.
Musinguzi revealed that a total of 8 candidates have been nominated for the Women’s Parliamentary seat in Wakiso District.
Additionally, 89 candidates have been nominated for direct seats, comprising 75 men and 14 women. Among these, 52 candidates are running on party tickets, while 45 are standing as Independents.
While speaking to journalists at the Wakiso District Electoral Commission (EC) offices, Musinguzi shared that the upcoming harmonization program is aimed at fostering unity and cooperation among the candidates and all stakeholders involved in the election process.
He urged all candidates to attend the event to address any potential challenges that could hinder the smooth running of their campaigns.
Musinguzi also emphasized the importance of collaboration in ensuring that the election process remains free and fair.
At the same time, he issued a stern warning against early campaigning, reminding the candidates that such actions are considered an electoral offense under the Elections Act and will not be tolerated.
