Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nathan Nandala Mafabi has pledged to prioritize infrastructure development and job creation in Bunyoro using oil revenue if elected.
Addressing a press conference at Kolping Hotel in Hoima City, Mafabi outlined plans to invest in productive sectors like tourism and nationwide infrastructure, while also promising to restore grabbed land to its rightful owners and compensate those whose land was taken for public use.
Mafabi expressed optimism about garnering more support in the upcoming general elections, contrasting the party’s prospects with the “military operation” it faced in the last elections.
FDC President Patrick Amuriat Oboi echoed concerns about security operatives blocking their rallies, accusing them of trying to deprive the population of their preferred candidate.
Amuriat Oboi emphasized that the party will not be deterred, warning that continued restrictions could force them to explore alternative measures.
This comes after security operatives blocked the FDC from canvassing in Kagadi district, prompting the party to accuse them of bias.
