St. Jude Wakiso Catholic Parish has officially launched the second phase of its fundraising campaign, aiming to raise UGX 140 million to support ongoing construction work on the parish church, specifically to reach the full whole plate level.
The announcement was made by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Ronnie Mubiru, during a community event organized by the parish to flag off a general cleaning exercise in Wakiso Town Council.
The cleaning activity was designed to raise awareness for the upcoming fundraising run, scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Fr. Mubiru noted that the total budget for the church construction project stands at UGX 4 billion, and that the parish has so far managed to raise UGX 1.5 billion, reflecting significant progress thanks to the ongoing support of parishioners and well-wishers.
Joseph Ddamulira, the chairperson of the organizing committee for the fundraising run, explained that this year’s campaign will focus on engaging students from schools affiliated with the parish.
He emphasized that students, too, have a role to play in supporting the building of the kingdom of God through contributions and participation in parish initiatives.
The parish continues to encourage all members of the community and friends of St. Jude Wakiso to take part in the fundraising efforts, as the construction project moves into its next major phase.
