The Electoral Commission has rescheduled the nomination date for Opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.
According to NUP Secretary General David Lewis Rubongoya, Kyagulanyi’s nomination will now take place on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, at 2:00 pm, instead of the previously announced date of Tuesday, September 23rd.
Rubongoya confirmed that the change was communicated through a letter from the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama.
Meanwhile, the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidential candidate Nandala Mafabi is also scheduled for nomination on Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, but at 10:00 am.
Robert Centenary, the FDC National Deputy Chairperson, revealed that immediately following the nomination, Mafabi will hold his first nomination rally at Kampala Road Playground in Nakawa Division, Luzira, where he will present his presidential candidacy plans.
