The operation, conducted on the night of September 16, 2025, focused on known crime hotspots within the division, including Mbalwa, Kakajjo (Koboko Zone), and Kireku.

According to police, 13 suspects were apprehended in Mbalwa, while 20 others were arrested in Kakajjo and Kireku.

All individuals were taken into custody on charges related to the illegal possession of opium.

Authorities explained that the operation was intelligence-led, with officers mapping out target areas in advance based on criminal activity reports.

Officers were also briefed before deployment to ensure the highest standards of professionalism were maintained throughout the exercise.
