The Electoral Commission (EC) has advised all nominated candidates to begin preparing their campaign programs in advance of the official campaign period, which begins on November 10, 2025.
Tolbert Musinguzi, the EC Presiding Officer for Wakiso District, emphasized the importance of early planning to avoid scheduling conflicts and ensure a smooth and harmonized campaign process.
“All nominated candidates must submit clear campaign programs indicating the dates, venues, and methods of their campaigns,” Musinguzi said. “This will allow for proper coordination and prevent clashes between different candidates.”
So far, eight candidates have been nominated to contest the Kira Municipality Mayoral seat, five for Entebbe Municipality, and four for Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality.
In Makindye Ssabagabo, Yusufu Zziwa Bugaga, the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate for mayor, was officially nominated today.
He pledged to focus on improving health services, environmental protection, education, and socioeconomic development in the municipality.
In a related development, Robert Ssebunya, a sports presenter at Radio Sapientia and current councillor, has been re-nominated to contest for the Mutundwe A council seat.
The area includes three villages: Mirembe, Kansala, and Wabiyinja.
Ssebunya vowed to advocate for better waste management in Makindye Ssabagabo Municipal Council.
