President Yoweri Museveni has advised youths dissatisfied with the National Youth League chairperson election results to petition the NRM tribunal.
The youths had contested the results, which declared Collins Tanga, son of Dr. Tanga Odoi, the chairperson of the electoral commission, as the winner with 1,567 votes, while Brenda Kiconco garnered 1,355 votes.
The youths alleged that the results were tampered with and demanded Dr. Tanga Odoi’s resignation.
However, President Museveni clarified that as the party chairperson, he couldn’t cancel the results, but the tribunal could provide final guidance.
Museveni urged the youths to seek redress through the tribunal, which has the authority to cancel or uphold the results.
