The National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Delegates Conference has unanimously endorsed President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for two key leadership positions within the party.
Museveni will continue as Party Chairman, leading the NRM for another five-year term from 2026 to 2031, and will also serve as the party’s Presidential Flagbearer for the 2026 general elections.
The endorsement process was led by Dr. Tanga Odoi, Chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission, who presented Museveni’s nomination to the delegates.
The delegates responded with unanimous support for Museveni in both roles.
In addition, Alhajji Moses Kigongo was endorsed unopposed as the First Vice Chairperson of the party.
Both Museveni and Kigongo expressed their gratitude to the delegates and pledged to dedicate themselves to the party’s growth and unity.
Meanwhile, the conference is currently reading the names of eligible voters as they prepare to decide on the next Second Vice National Female Chairperson of NRM.
The contest is between incumbent Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga and the Speaker of Parliament, Annet Anita Among.
