The National Unity Platform (NUP) has launched an ambitious fundraising campaign aimed at raising at least UGX 9 billion to support its preparations for the 2026 general elections.
Party President Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine, has appointed a committee led by Hon. Ronald Balimwezo to spearhead the fundraising efforts.
Speaking at the campaign launch held at the party headquarters in Makerere Kavule today, Kyagulanyi issued a rallying call to supporters and well-wishers to contribute generously.
He emphasized the need for campaign materials including T-shirts, posters, flyers, fuel, and other logistical necessities.
Demonstrating leadership by example, Kyagulanyi and his family donated UGX 10 million, while the Leader of the Opposition contributed UGX 20 million.
Additionally, each NUP Member of Parliament has pledged at least UGX 10 million toward the cause.
The campaign signals the party’s early and determined push to mobilize resources ahead of the 2026 electoral season.
