A total of 89 pupils from St. Peter’s Primary School Nsambya received the Sacrament of Confirmation during a colourful celebration of the school’s Patron Saints Day held today.
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Msgr. Dr. Lawrence Ssemusu, Chaplain of Makerere University Business School.
In his homily, he encouraged the newly confirmed to embrace the gifts of the Holy Spirit and to live as true soldiers of Christ.
Msgr. Ssemusu emphasized that becoming a soldier of Christ empowers one with divine strength to stand against evil, including acts such as corruption, prostitution, and embezzlement.
During the same celebration, over 50 children received their First Holy Communion.
They were reminded of the significance of the sacrament receiving Jesus Christ in body and blood and encouraged to deepen their understanding of this sacred gift.
The event was attended by parents, guardians, and representatives from neighboring institutions, adding to the joy and spiritual significance of the occasion.
