At least 13 members of the Democratic Party (DP) have picked up expression of interest forms for Parliamentary seats ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Additionally, one party member has picked up forms to contest for the Kampala Lord Mayor position.
Speaking to journalists at the party headquarters on Mengo Balintuma Road, the DP Electoral Commission Chairperson, Kennedy Mutenyu, confirmed that the process began on July 2, 2025, and will run until July 15, 2025.
He urged all interested members to participate within the designated timeline to avoid any inconveniences.
Mutenyu also noted that each applicant is required to pay a nominal fee of UGX 10,000 for the forms.
Some of the notable members who have picked up forms include Moses Kyemba (aspiring MP for Jinja North Constituency), Maria Nassali (Wakiso District Woman MP), and John Bosco Kamoga, who seeks to contest for the Kampala Lord Mayorship.
Kamoga stated that he is ready to address the challenges facing Kampala, including the poor drainage system and deteriorating road infrastructure.
