The Opposition People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) has officially started receiving nomination forms from members intending to contest in various positions ahead of the 2026 general elections.

Several aspirants returned their completed nomination forms today at the party’s headquarters on Katonga Road in Kampala.

Among them was Francis Lubega, a seasoned parliamentary reporter and presenter with Radio Sapientia, who is seeking to contest for the Makindye East parliamentary seat.

The constituency is currently represented by Hon. Derrick Nyeko of the National Unity Platform (NUP).

Lubega, who was accompanied by his wife and a group of enthusiastic supporters from Makindye East, declared his intention to bring change to the constituency.

He argued that the area has long been represented by individuals he described as outsiders, and that it is time for residents to elect someone grounded in the community.

He further emphasized that elected leaders must prioritize the needs of their constituents and be committed to genuine service delivery.

The nomination process by PFF marks the beginning of what is expected to be a competitive electoral season as political parties and candidates position themselves for the 2026 elections.
