Three people have been confirmed dead following a shooting incident at the Ultimate Security Company offices in Mbuya, Kampala, on the morning of June 18, 2025.
The deceased have been identified as Noella Zella, Assistant Human Resource Officer; Salez Bwampata, Armory Officer; and Richard Mwaawa, a security guard suspected of carrying out the attack.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Spokesperson for the Kampala Metropolitan Police, Mwaawa allegedly shot Zella and Bwampata before he was fatally wounded by responding police officers.
The shooting took place around 9:00 AM at the company’s premises in Bugolobi Parish, Nakawa Division. All three bodies were transported to the City Mortuary in Mulago for postmortem examinations.
The firearm believed to have been used in the attack has been recovered and submitted for forensic analysis.
As of press time, the motive for the shooting remains unclear. Police have launched a full investigation and are urging the public to remain calm and allow the process to unfold.
