President Yoweri Museveni, represented by Vice President Jessica Alupo, expressed appreciation for the Uganda Martyrs’ courage in standing by their faith and Christ during the Martyrs’ Day celebrations at Namugongo.
Museveni challenged Christians to live by example, reminding them of the upcoming Heroes Day celebration on June 9, which honors individuals who have contributed to Uganda’s development.
The President also emphasized his mission of economic transformation, encouraging Christians to utilize government programs to generate income and support their families.
He highlighted Uganda’s surplus in foodstuffs, such as beans, matooke, beef, milk, and cement, and stressed the need to access regional markets to create demand.
Museveni concluded by calling for unity among Ugandans, urging them to pray for the country’s prosperity.
