75% of road accident fatalities last week were motorcycle riders, passengers, and pedestrians, highlighting the vulnerability of these road users.
According to Michael Kananura, the Traffic Police Spokesperson, reckless overtaking and over speeding are major contributors to these crashes.
In response, authorities have implemented revised speed regulations, reducing the speed limit for private vehicles from 100 km/h to 90 km/h.
Kananura urges motorists to adhere to these new limits and exercise caution while driving to reduce accidents and create a safer environment for all road users.
By promoting responsible driving habits and respecting traffic regulations, we can work towards minimizing the risks faced by vulnerable road users and reducing the overall number of road accidents.
