Delegates of the African Organization of Accounts Committees (AFROPAC) member countries have observed that people in African countries are losing confidence in governments because of corruption and Illicit financial flows.

At the closure of the 3rd AFROPAC General meeting in Kampala that started yesterday November 21st to 22nd November 2018 at Speke Resort Munyonyo in a statement delivered by the secretary general Hon Opiyo Wandayi MP Pacchair from Kenya, it has been noted that losing confidence in government is one of the Paramount responsibilities of Parliament to hold governments accountable to restore public trust.

He added that African regional institutions like the African Union and its organs such as the African organization of supreme Audit Institutions, the African Tax Administration Forum and the Collaborative Africa budget reform need to be seriously considered and adopted for immediate implementation.

They have committed to analyze instruments, effective policies and legislation in place to fight corruption both in public and private sector for accountability of the tax payers’ money.
