State Minister for Children and Youths Affairs, Balaam Barugahara and PM Nabbanja

The State Minister for Children and Youths Affairs, Balaam Barugahara decries the rampant corruption that has crippled many Government programs in the country.

He now calls on the young people to rise up and participate in the fight against corruption.

He was speaking to a gathering of the participants in the ongoing annual National Catholic Youth Conference taking place in Hoima Diocese where he officially opened the conference.

Barugahara further tipped the youths about the many Government programs targeting young people including the Youth Livelihood Fund and the World Bank funded GROW Program that benefits young girls and women, among others.

He says he has asked the President to include a budget for providing capital to youths who have benefited from the skilling program.

He further calls on the Catholic Church to always discourage young people from dangerous acts such as drunkenness.

Meanwhile, the Minister confirmed that the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja shall address the Youth Conference on Thursday, and the Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Matia Kasaija will address the same gathering of the youths on Friday.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni shall attend the closing moment of this year’s National Catholic Youth Conference on Sunday December 15th 2024.
