Architects have been advised to exercise professionalism as they are exercising their work.
The call was made by the Secretary of the Uganda Society of Architects (USA), Catherine Muyinda during the Construction Symposium 2024 held at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala.
Speaking at the symposium which attracted many players in the construction sector, Muyinda said that many buildings have stalled due to poor planning by some dubious architects who undertake such projects.
Muyinda says that ignorance of how to handle the binding process to know what is required makes many projects not to reach their maturity stage.
She now calls on building owners to use professional architects to ensure that they get value for the money they invest in their projects.
One of the aims of the USA is to organize and unite architects in Uganda and to foster and strengthen friendly, intellectual, artistic, cultural, educational and scientific ties among architects and architectural fraternity.
Since its establishment, the USA has produced an extensive series of practice, management and law reports on matters related to architectural practices and building in Uganda generally.
