This year's Rosary Crusade at the Uganda Martyrs Catholic Shrine Namugongo.

The Holy Cross Family Ministries has called on Ugandans to join in a special Holy Rosary prayer for peace in the world.

The ‘Global Rosary’ for peace prayer campaign will take place on 22nd October 2026 at 4.00pm Rome, Italy time which will be around 5.00pm Kampala time in Uganda.

The virtual program targets over 250,000 members participating in this special prayer.

On this day every Christian is requested to recite the holy rosary for peace in the world citing the US/Israel war against Iran, Russian war in Ukraine, the conflicts in Lybia, Gaza, Ethiopia and Sudan among others that have claimed thousands of lives and many displaced.

This was communicated by the Director Holy Cross Family Ministries East Africa Rev. Fr. John Baptist Nsubuga during this year’s Rosary Crusade at the Uganda Martyrs Catholic Shrine Namugongo.

Fr. Nsubuga said Uganda has been blessed with peace due to the fervent prayers hailing the congregation that braved the cold night during this Rosary Crusade to pray for their families, friends and the world at large.

This year’s Rosary Crusade held on 2nd and 3rd October 2026 was under the theme; “One Family One Rosary”. It was attended by members of legion of Mary from Kampala and the surrounding districts and prayer groups of the Holy Cross Family Ministries in Uganda.

The main celebrant at the closure of the Rosary Crusade Re. Fr. Dr. Hillary Munyaneza a formatter at St. Mbagga’s Major Seminary Ggaba challenged the congregation to always surrender their sorrowful and joyful moments to God through the intercession of Mother Mary.

The representative for the Senatus of Uganda – Legion of Mary Joseph Mawanda gave testimonies of how members of the legion of Mary from South Sudan in Yambio who have been saved from abductions by the worrying factions in South Sudan whenever they travel for fellowships in Uganda, emphasizing that prayers through mother Mary should be jealously protected and promoted.
