Ugandans Urged to Embrace Saving Culture as Prudential Launches New Plans

Prudential Uganda Chief Executive Officer, Tetteh Ayitevie

Ugandans have been urged to embrace a strong saving culture to secure better financial opportunities and support for their dependants in the future.

The call was made by Prudential Uganda Chief Executive Officer, Tetteh Ayitevie, while addressing journalists in Kampala during the launch of three new savings plans aimed at helping Ugandans achieve their financial and family goals.

The new products include Pru Edusave Plus, designed to help parents and guardians save for their children’s education; Pru Wealth, which focuses on helping customers achieve their financial goals; and Pru Legacy, which is aimed at family protection and comes with an optional critical illness cover.

Ayitevie said raising money can be difficult when individuals face serious emergencies or unexpected financial challenges, but having savings can provide a financial cushion during such situations.

He said a consistent saving culture can also help parents meet their children’s education needs while providing financial support in cases of critical illness and other emergencies.

Ayitevie encouraged Ugandans to develop financial discipline through regular saving, saying this can contribute to improving their social and economic well-being.

He added that the new Prudential savings plans are intended to help Ugandans prepare for the future while protecting their families from unexpected financial challenges.
