Police Arrest Eight Over Viral TikTok Video Alleging Attacks on Public

Police in Old Kampala have arrested eight suspects allegedly linked to a viral TikTok video in which a group of men are seen boasting about attacks on members of the public.

According to police, about six individuals appearing in the video claim to have assaulted several victims, allegedly breaking their jaws and teeth.

The suspects are also accused of demanding a share of the money earned by dentists treating the alleged victims and threatening medical practitioners who refuse to comply.

An intelligence-led operation conducted on September 8, 2026, at Gojo Gym in Namungona, Lubya Parish, Rubaga Division, Kampala District, led to the arrest of the eight suspects. Police say four of those arrested are allegedly seen in the viral video.

Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Racheal Kawala identified the suspects as Mohammed Matiti, alias Beast-Commander; Nurudin Kasule, alias 2 I/C; Umar Mubiru; Adams Lukooya; Martin Kiyimba; Yosam Junior Alinda; James Walumu; and Elvis Simanya.

Kawala says the gym was allegedly being used as a meeting point by the group under the guise of conducting boxing training.

The suspects are being investigated over allegations of robbery, housebreaking, theft, phone snatching, use of deadly weapons, and unlawful possession of narcotic substances.
