Government forensic DNA tests have confirmed that only four of the 25 individuals who claimed to be children of the late Ugandan music legend Prince Paul Job Kafeero are his biological offspring.
The results, released by the Police Forensic Directorate at Police Headquarters in Naguru, mark a major development in a long-running dispute over the celebrated Kadongo Kamu artist’s family lineage and inheritance.
According to the findings, the individuals confirmed as Kafeero’s biological children are Benedicto Kafeero, Simon Peter Kafeero, Thomas Swaz Kafeero, and Elizabeth Nagawa.
The remaining claimants were not established as biological descendants of the late musician.
The DNA verification exercise was conducted under the supervision of Minister for Local Government Balaam Barugahara, Director of Forensics Andrew Mubiru, and Director of the Government Analytical Laboratory Kepher Kuchana Kateu.
Authorities said the exercise was aimed at determining the rightful beneficiaries of Kafeero’s estate, bringing closure to years of uncertainty surrounding his paternity, and providing a clear basis for resolving inheritance disputes linked to his legacy.
Prince Paul Job Kafeero, a renowned Kadongo Kamu musician, died in May 2007 at the age of 36 due to kidney and liver complications. Since his death, his family has been embroiled in prolonged disputes over paternity and inheritance claims.
