President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has announced a new Cabinet list

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has announced a new Cabinet list, making key appointments and retaining several senior officials in a reshuffle aimed at strengthening government leadership and service delivery across the country.

The appointments were made under constitutional powers granted to the President of Uganda.

Jessica Rose Epel Alupo remains Vice President, while Robinah Nabbanja continues in her role as Prime Minister and Leader of Government Business in Parliament.

Former Speaker Rebecca Kadaga retains her position as First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for East African Community Affairs, maintaining continuity in regional integration efforts.

In key economic and governance portfolios, Henry Musasizi has been appointed Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, taking charge of fiscal policy and national budgeting.

Diplomat Adonia Ayebare assumes the Foreign Affairs docket, expected to strengthen Uganda’s international relations. Dr Chris Baryomunsi takes over the Ministry of Health, while Dr Jane Ruth Aceng transferred to ICT and National Guidance. Norbert Mao retains the Justice and Constitutional Affairs portfolio.

The reshuffle also features a strong presence of security and military-linked figures.

Gen. Katumba Wamala has been appointed Minister of Public Service, and Henry Tumukunde is now Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development.

Other ministries, including Energy, Works and Transport, Agriculture, and Local Government, also saw new or retained leadership.

In addition, the President appointed 51 Ministers of State across various sectors such as education, finance, health, and local government.

These appointments are expected to enhance administrative efficiency and decentralised service delivery.

The reshuffle further included the naming of Senior Presidential Advisors in different fields, while some officials were reassigned to diplomatic service roles.
